With a big win over Kansas on Saturday night, the Iowa State basketball team has moved back into the Associated Press top 10 when the rankings were released on Monday.

The Cyclones are now ranked 9th and are the top-ranked team in the Big 12 once again. They swapped places with the Jayhawks who are now ranked 11th. Iowa State jumped ahead of Louisville, who’s currently at 10th, after the Cardinals got blown out by Duke on Saturday afternoon.

That jump over Louisville was incredibly marginal. Iowa State received just one more point to jump ahead of Louisville, otherwise they would be at 10th and just ahead of Kansas.

Six teams remain in the top 25 from the Big 12. Texas is next in line at 17th, West Virginia follows right behind them at 18th, and Oklahoma is right after that at 19th. Baylor is 21st.

Oklahoma State, who was at 24th, dropped out after losing to Oklahoma and Kansas last week. The Cowboys are still on the fringe, but were beat out by Iowa who lands right at 25th in the rankings. Northern Iowa is the third team from the state in the rankings at 20th between a pair of Big 12 schools.

Iowa State is the highest team in the top 25 rankings with three or more losses. Kentucky still sits at the top with nearly all of the first place votes — Virginia received two and is in second. Rounding out the top eight are Gonzaga, Villanova, Duke, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Notre Dame.
