Iowa State’s trip to Morgantown to take on West Virginia highlights the Big 12 slate this Saturday, which sees ranked teams involved in all five games. Here are our college basketball picks for week nine on Saturday.

Rankings reflect latest AP poll. Click here for a full Big 12 schedule including game times and TV and streaming assignments.

(12)Kansas 78, Texas Tech 56

It wasn’t easy, but the Jayhawks survived poor shooting in an all-around ugly first half and defeated Baylor on the road. The Red Raider defense won’t be near as difficult as Allen Fieldhouse opens up for business in Big 12 play.

(21)Baylor 58, TCU 55

Both teams have the conference’s best defenses statistically, so expect a very low-scoring affair in Fort Worth. This game is already important for both teams considering the loser will drop to 0-3 in Big 12 play. There’s a very good chance both teams won’t score more than their football affair last year, but it should be the same result for the Bears.

(10)Texas 66, Oklahoma State 61

What the hell was that on Monday night? The Longhorns got blown out at home against Oklahoma and suddenly have a lot of questions on offense. Can they figure it out against the Cowboys, who held the Cyclones to just 63 points? I still like Texas in this one, but this could be a very intriguing game.

(16)Oklahoma 81, Kansas State 63

The Sooners have a case to be the Big 12’s best team right now, although West Virginia should hold the torch at the moment. That showing against Texas was impressive, and they shouldn’t miss a beat hosting an apparently bad Wildcats team.

(17)Iowa State at (14)West Virginia

A busy day for the Big 12 ends with a top-17 matchup. The Mountaineers would be the unquestioned best team in the Big 12 with a win over the Cyclones. Iowa State has to hope it’s not like the blowout that unfolded a year ago. We’ll have a preview and prediction on this game tomorrow afternoon.
