6. Botched kick return vs. Oklahoma State

Want to know why Iowa State fans can’t just blame the refs for the horrible goal line touchdown? Because another That’s So Cyclones(TM) moment came when two returners got confused on the kickoff that led to the disastrous events. Apparently neither one called off the other, and both rushed forward as the ball split the uprights between them. By rule, that’s a live ball and Oklahoma State recovered.

Was that legit? It sure was according the rules that none of us knew. At least Iowa State gave us something new to learn.
