5. Giving up a last-minute field goal against Texas

There were three moments that Cyclones fans should be happy about this season. The previously mentioned start against NDSU, beating Iowa, and the direction the team was looking like it was going after defeating Toledo and playing against Texas. A fun shootout turned into devastation, however. The Cyclones could have gone into overtime after tying the game up at 45 with 28 seconds to go.

Instead, Tyrone Swoopes threw two long bombs that Iowa State easily gave up and Texas kicked a chipshot field goal to win the game.
