Drops were still a bug-a-boo, but considering how banged up this unit was, Iowa State has to be lucky there was so much depth. Losing Quenton Bundrage hurt big time, but the trio of Allen Lazard, D’Vario Montgomery, and tight end E.J. Bibbs could have been a deadly force if the offense gained any consistency and started off games better instead of needing to come from behind.
There will be no Bibbs or the shifty Jarvis West next year, but the duo of Lazard and Montgomery along with a healthy Bundrage should have Richardson licking his chops. That’s assuming the quarterback can improve on his passing.
