Buffalo Bills 20, Carolina Panthers 18
— Bills: Deon Broomfield had the third most tackles on the team with 3 total (2 solo) and deflected a pass. Broomfield stopped a 3rd and 12 deep pass play from Joe Webb to Brandon Williams. He was involved in the first two tackles in Carolina’s second drive of the quarter and made his final tackle with about a minute left in the game.
— Panthers: A.J. Klien had two total tackles (both solo) and one of them was for a loss of a yard. Both tackles happened in the final two minutes of the first half.
Atlanta Falcons 16, Miami Dolphins 10
— Falcons: Tim Dobbins had one tackle in the game, coming around the 9:30 mark in the 3rd quarter to stop 3rd and 11. Seth Lobato had a short pass to running back Mike Gillislee, who was stopped for -2 yards deep in Miami territory.
Jacksonville Jaguars 16, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10
— Bucs: Leonard Johnson recorded a deflected pass. Of course, that didn’t get as much attention as the jerseys that Tampa Bay wore.
Minnesota Vikings 10, Oakland Raiders 6
— Raiders: Jansen Watson recorded two tackles (one solo) and deflected a pass. It could have been a better night for Watson, but he dropped two interceptions.
Chicago Bears 34, Philadelphia Eagles 28
— Eagles: While Jake Knott is eligible to play in preseason games, he didn’t register a tackle in the team’s first game of the season. Knott is suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
