Breaking Down the Box Score: Kansas State

First off, I haven’t been able to most much here due to the entire network switching servers.  Secondly, it was hard for me to find a lot of stats that stick out in the ISU-KSU box score.  A lot of the stats are pretty similar, so if you see something that I missed, point it out via a comment or tweet to me.

1.)  Royce White is a horse.  He had is usual stats, but the fact that he played the entire game besides one minute is impressive especially for a big guy.

2.)  I could go on for a very long time talking about Scott Christopherson’s game last Saturday.  As you can see, he dropped 29 points on the Wildcats.  Scott Christopherson made every single 3-pointer he took and only missed 3 shots the whole game.  Scott Christopherson has put the team on his shoulders and is carrying them down the finish of the regular season.

3.)  I hate to say negative things about the Clones after a big win.  However, Chris Babb has been struggling lately shooting the ball.  It may be from his effort on the defensive side of the ball that is to blame for his poor shooting.  If Babb can go back to his old self, the Cyclones can become really dangerous.

4.)  Kansas State is a great rebounding team.  The last time these two teams played, the Wildcats had 5 more offensive rebounds.  This time, Iowa State outrebounded K-State by 2 (would be more but KSU got some in the final seconds).

5.)  K-State’s 3-point shooting killed them.  If you can only make 17.6% of your 3-pointers, it will be hard to beat good teams like Iowa State.

6.)  I found it interesting that K-State blocked 6 more shots than the Cyclones, yet still lost the game.
