EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a post from Carmon Wilson, an Iowa State women’s basketball reporter. His work has been featured at AllCyclones.com and we are excited to announce that he will be a contributor to Clones Confidential. Follow him on Twitter.

We thought we’d have a little fun here at Clones Confidential and have former Cyclones face off against each other, testing their knowledge of the current landscape of college football by picking the weeks highest profile marque matchups. Keep track of their record throughout the year for bragging rights.

More from Iowa State Cyclones

The former Cyclones in the pigskin pick’em are Bill Marsau, Brent Curvey, Marcel Howard, Nick Leaders. Also included are staff writer Carmon Wilson’s picks.

Week Three

Bill Marsau: A second-team all-conference selection his senior season (1999), and three-time academic all-Big 12 selection. Marsau was named to the Super Prep All-American team in high school and was the first big recruit to say no to Iowa and choose the Cyclones in 1995. His signing began the trend to change the culture of football within the state. He is currently the Biomedical Products Manager at W&G Marketing in Ames, coaches flag football through the Upward program, and he and his wife are Cyclone season ticket holders.

West Virginia @ Maryland – West Virginia: West Virginia has a lot of young players replacing veterans but confidence from their near upset of Alabama will lead to a win.

Georgia @ South Carolina – South Carolina: This will be a very close game but I give the edge to the home team.

Arkansas @ Texas Tech – Texas Tech: Their offense will come to life and they’ll get the W. My wife thinks so as well but that’s more because she has a thing for Kliff Kingsbury.

Iowa State @ Iowa – ISU: On sheer principle I have to pick the Cyclones. They’re due for a win and with Scherff out I think Iowa’s o-line will struggle.

Tennessee @ Oklahoma – Oklahoma: This won’t even be a contest. The game is in Norman and the Sooners will cruise to a victory.

UCLA @ Texas – Texas: Coach Charlie Strong will have them fired up and ready to go after they’re disgusting performance against BYU last week.
