10. Blowing a 21-7 lead against West Virginia

During the Thanksgiving holiday, I was sitting in my parent’s kitchen watching the shocking start. For a while I thought being in a new environment was able to jump start the Cyclones and maybe they could at least finish with the same record as last year.

That eventually turned into hope that it would be another shootout like last year. Iowa State ended up losing their 21-7 early start and trailed at halftime 27-21. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Instead, the Cyclones’ 21-7 start led to a 30-3 run by the Mountaineers as they eventually pulled away in a blowout. Oh, and it was against West Virginia’s backup quarterback too.
