2. Going 1-for-5 in the red zone against Kansas

As the season quickly spiraled to awful, Iowa State fans just kept looking to the Kansas game to finally sit back, crack open some beers, and laugh. Instead, the Jayhawks did all the laughing. Sam Richardson was out for the game, and clearly after watching Grant Rohach struggle mightily under center, we found out why the mobile quarterback got the nod ahead of him.

Even with the slow start, the Cyclones still had lots of chances. However, they ended up with a season-worst one conversion in the red zone in five trips inside the Jayhawks 20-yard line.
