Terry Bowden
- Head coach at Akron
- Also coached at Samford, Auburn, and North Alabama
- Overall record: 150-86-2
- Bowls: 2-1
Could Iowa State get one of the Bowdens? It’s not crazy since you know Bowden is thinking of getting back to a Power 5 school. He’s also restored disasters, which is exactly what Akron was when he took over. The Zips won just two games in the previous two years before Bowden. 2012 just saw one victory, but he was able to get five wins last year and they currently sit at 4-6 now.
Getting Bowden would be an interesting hire by Iowa State as he’s had lots of success with Auburn in the mid-90’s before having a disastrous year in 1998 and resigning midway through. He’s got connections to the South, which is always important for recruiting.
