Kansas State 23, Texas 0
So much for the Longhorn offense getting things together. They suffer a major setback at the hands of the Wildcat defense as Tyrone Swoopes and company couldn’t even muster over 200 yards in a shutout. On the flipside, KSU gives us an interesting alternative to a top team in the Big 12. The offense may not be as explosive as TCU, but they may have the most complete team after seven games.
TCU 82, Texas Tech 27
Unbelievable. The Horned Frogs tacked on a record of 82 points scored against a conference foe. The game looked like the beginning of a classic shootout with both teams moving the ball up and down the field and over 500 yards of offense combined in the first quarter. Then, it turned into an absolute beatdown. TCU’s offense is scary good, and it will only get better if the defense plays the way it did in the final three quarters.
West Virginia 34, Oklahoma State 10
Give props to the Cowboys for hanging around for the majority of this game. The final isn’t indicative of how close the game was, but it never really felt like Okie State could win the game. With a team that was already focused on rebuilding, the injuries have taken their toll and clearly Daxx Garman isn’t ready to be a regular starter at quarterback. The Mountaineers are cooking up a dream season while a painful reality sets in for the Cowboys.
