In Vegas, the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino opened up the game with Kansas State favored by 12.5 points. That line hasn’t had much movement, just dropping the half point throughout the week. Station Casinos opened at 13 but quickly went down to 12.5 later on Tuesday, and then 12 on Wednesday afternoon.
Point totals at LVH and Station were set on Wednesday, opening at 56 and 56.5 respectively.
Some offshore odds opened up Kansas State as a bigger favorite. A couple of them opened up with the Wildcats being favored by 15.5 points. Regardless of where the line opened up, all of the offshore books have the line at either 12 or 12.5.
The point totals all started higher, most of them opening at 58 or 57. People have slammed on the under, and the total has been slowly dropping all the way to 54.5. Expect the Vegas point total to get lower as we get closer to kickoff.
What should you bet? Despite how bad the Cyclones looked last week, reeling in Kansas State and all 12 points is not a guaranteed home run. For those that are wondering why this line isn’t more in favor of the Wildcats, they haven’t exactly been dominant in their six-game winning streak over ISU.
Iowa State got torched last year in Manhattan, but all the other losses since 2008 were decided by eight points or less. That being said, the Cyclones are 1-7-1 at the spread against teams with a winning record.
It’ll be a sweat, and the public is banging on it, but take KSU even with the big line. For the point total, the smart play is taking the under. The under is 5-1 in Kansas State’s last six games against teams with a losing record, and the under is 5-1 in the last six games head-to-head.
