Apparently, the biggest mistake for Carolina Panthers linebacker A.J. Klein was forgetting a pillow for last year’s training camp. He didn’t make the same mistake twice.
Klein told ESPN that he learned from his mistake but didn’t bring much else with him along with a comfortable pillow.
“That was bad,” the second-year player out of Iowa State said on Saturday. “I rolled up a sweatshirt at night as a pillow. That was better than the one they gave me.”
“Some people bring gaming systems,” Klein said. “I have a book. Ghost Ships. The USS Houston gets lost in the Pacific. I’m into War Stories, that sort of stuff.”
Klein being interested in war stories should surprise no one. He’s a human tank who would be just as successful in the military as he is at linebacker.
In all seriousness, Klein is also hoping to learn after a brilliant season last year after replacing Chase Blackburn. Despite the results, he believes that there’s still a long road ahead of him to get there but he won’t stop trying to become a starter on the Ravens.
Other Cyclones in the NFL news
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly doesn’t believe there’s a rampant problem with PEDs on the team, believing that Jake Knott and Lane Johnson should be responsible for their own actions.
“But they’re also they’re own men. It’s no different than if you got pulled over for a DUI; are you going to turn around and tell your employers, ‘You didn’t tell me I couldn’t do that?’ There’s a lot of responsibility. They’re both adults. They both made mistakes. They’re going to pay a very hefty price. Hopefully, that works.”
ESPN released their projected rosters for the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kelechi Osemele is a guaranteed starter on the offensive line for the Ravens. A.J. Klein is listed as one of the five linebackers for the Panthers. Leonard Johnson is also claimed to be “the early favorite to claim the nickelback job” for the Buccaneers.
