Iowa State men’s basketball: Georges Niang responds to Buddy Hield’s bold prediction
By Brian Spaen
Oklahoma sophomore guard Buddy Hield made a bold claim at the LeBron James Skills Competition this week, and Iowa State’s Georges Niang isn’t having it.
CBS Sports’ Jeff Borzello tweeted out today that Hield predicts that Oklahoma is going to win the Big 12. Niang comes out afterward with his best Lee Corso impression.
ESPN blogger Eamonn Brennan said the following after posting about this on the men’s college basketball blog.
"One can only assume Niang was so incredulous because he assumes, like the rest of us, that Kansas is going to win the Big 12. (Kansas always wins the Big 12.)"
Yes, indeed. Kansas always wins the Big 12. I knew everything that follows this sentence was just a dream.

Obviously, I know Brennan was talking about the regular season. But you can’t dismiss tournament champions. They are recognized as the Big 12 champions in the NCAA tournament, after all.
