Iowa State football: Cyclones offer Kansas DE Timmy Hamilton
By Brian Spaen
Iowa State has given an offer to junior college defensive end Timmy Hamilton from Kansas.
Hamilton tweeted that he received an offer from the Cyclones earlier today:
"God has blessed me so much I just received another offer from Iowa State! #Big12 #Cyclones"
Hamilton is a three-star strong-side defensive end, according to 247Sports. The recruiting service ranks him as the 50th best JUCO athlete, eighth overall at the position, and 11th-best in the state of Kansas.
The defensive lineman is playing at Coffeyville Community College. Last season, he recorded 35 total tackles (14 solo, 21 assists) and five sacks in eight games. Those five sacks put him at 68th nationally according to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s official statpage.
Hamilton checks in at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds. According to 247Sports, he’s received offers from Arkansas State, Illinois, and Troy.
This isn’t the first time Iowa State and Hamilton have been tied together. There was interest here back when Hamilton was a part of the class of 2013 coming right out of high school. However, according to his high school page at 247Sports, he did not receive an offer from a Division I school.
There seems to be plenty of interest in Arkansas though. Hamilton has made an unofficial visit and participated in a Razorbacks camp a couple years ago and that school was ranked highest in his interests when coming out of high school. However, things could have definitely changed in that time period.
For now, check out some of his videos over at his official Hudl page.
