The Buffalo Bills have signed Deon Broomfield (safety). He announced on Twitter that he was headed to the team within the same hour that the NFL Draft was over. Broomfield finished fourth on the team in total tackles (57) and will likely be going after a special teams position early.
Ernst Brun (tight end) will have a tryout with the Oakland Raiders. That was confirmed by WHOTV late on Saturday. Brun was a potential draft candidate until an injury-riddled seasons took out a lot of opportunity for scouts to notice him this season.
Late on Saturday, the Akron Beacon Journal reported that Jacques Washington (safety) was signed with the Cleveland Browns, but unconfirmed. Washington was the only other player not named Jeremiah George that reached the century mark in tackles for the Cyclones last season.
Kirby Van Der Kamp (punter) is still available. Lots of teams were reportedly interested in him, and some mock drafts had him going as early as the fourth or fifth round as the undisputed top punter in the nation. It’s interesting that the Washington Redskins, who were interested in him back in April, haven’t signed him yet.
