Arizona confirmed the decision in a press release on Friday. The Associated Press report had comments from head coach Sean Miller (via FOX Sports):
"Arizona coach Sean Miller called Anderson ”an incredibly productive basketball player” and ”a high-character person” whose addition will help the Wildcats at what the coach called a crucial time."
The Wildcats were a favorite landing spot for Anderson, originally from Lakewood, California. He made his decision just a day after visiting Arizona. He visited Iowa State last Friday and Indiana on Monday.
In a NESN report on Anderson announcing a transfer back in early April, he was already considering a transfer to a West Coast school.
Anderson averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds last season with the Eagles. He will sit out next season with shoulder surgery and will have one year of eligibility left at the beginning of the 2015-16 season.
Fred Hoiberg can’t get them all, but Iowa State still looks to be loaded for the 2015 season, and there’s till other potential transfers coming in.
