From the Iowa State Daily:
"Ames Police records show Morris was cited with being underage at 121 Welch Ave., the location of Cy’s Roost, at 12:33 a.m. Feb. 16. Cy’s Roost is a 21-year-old and up establishment, and Morris is 18-years old."
The story was first reported by the Ames Tribune.
Morris, a freshman, still started for the Cyclones in the game against Texas on Tuesday night. He had two points, six assists, zero turnovers, and four rebounds in 32 minutes of action.
A spokesperson for Iowa State said “the situation…is being handled internally.” Don’t expect any kind of suspension for Morris. The team would have known about it before tip-off on Tuesday night and there was no impact on his playing time or starting role.
There’s one thing to note about this report. Morris was caught at the bar but there was nothing about him drinking there.
Cy’s Roost has been a common bar for Iowa State athletes to meet in Ames, but no underage players should ever be allowed in despite their status.
