The fifth episode of the monthly series will be hosted by Brad LaFratte (@cyclone2dabone), and he will be joined by Clones Confidential staff writer, Brian Voss (@BrianVoss2). Also making an appearance will be Drew Zschiesche of @CycloneInsiders.
This is Mann’s (@8milecorn) third year as an assistant coach on the sidelines for Fred Hoiberg’s staff. He’s been one of reasons why the Cyclones have been so successful; he mentored both Royce White and Will Clyburn in his first two seasons, and the team has made two straight NCAA Tournament appearances. Here’s some of his other accomplishments (via the Cyclones’ official athletic website):
"Coach Hoiberg appointed Mann as the lead defensive coach at Iowa State which fits well with his high energy and style over substance approach. Mann believes in hard work and holding players accountable on the court and in the classroom. In his short time in Ames, Mann has already brought with him the Michigan pipeline, having recruited four players from his home state. Percy Gibson (Detroit Southeastern) has appeared in 60 games in his two-year career. He was considered the top post player in Michigan in the Class of 2011 and was named to the Detroit Free Press’ Six-Player Dream Team as a senior after averaging 21.2 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks."
Siepker (@scottsiepker) was a viral hit a few years ago when the video, “Iowa Nice Guy,” blew up on the internet. He made other videos, “Hawkeye Nice” and “Cyclone Nice,” that also became a hit. He was eventually picked up by ESPN to do weekly segments on the ESPNU show, “College Football Daily.”
