The Iowa State football team won their first Big 12 game of the season, destroying Kansas in a 34-0 shutout in the bitter cold. Kickoff for the game was at a record low of eight degrees, with the wind making it feel like it was right at zero.

That didn’t matter to the seniors; plenty of them gave their greatest performance all season in their final game at Jack Trice Stadium.

Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads on the fans and his players:

"“I’m really happy for our fans, delivering a victory for them at Jack Trice Stadium and most happy for our seniors. To go out at home with a victory, with a performance like that, was important to me and important to them.”"
