By Brian Spaen

Former Iowa State quarterback and NFL journeyman, Sage Rosenfels, blasted Miami Dolphins’ general manager, Jeff Ireland, in a Twitter rant on Thursday morning, surrounding the news of Ireland’s potential role in telling Jonathan Martin to punch Richie Incognito.

Rosenfels rattled off a series of tweets, calling Ireland a “jerk” and giving him “the award for worst GM in [his] career” after how he dealt with the quarterback’s illness after being signed with the Dolphins. It only “took about a hour to find out what everyone in that locker room thought of [Ireland].”
Two months after being put on Non Football Injury list with mono, I had gotten healthy and wanted to play. He wouldn't let me off NFI......

....sign me that late in the week. Luckily, the Vikings cut McNabb and signed me that night. There is more but that is the basics of it.

I understand GMs always put their teams first. I respect that. But he was being a jerk just because he could. That's why he won the award.

Not only did Rosenfels blast Ireland, but he also gave an example of what the New York Giants organization did for him when he was sick.
On the flip side, the Giants paid me for 5 weeks when I came down with a bad blood infection even tho I was only sick for 4 weeks. #Class.

Rosenfels played for five different teams and nine different general managers; that’s equivalent to one of us working five different jobs and nine different bosses. Just imagine how many people get upset after getting fired from one job, and how much bad blood that could create.
Just hating one out of nine “bosses” is pretty telling.
