The Big 12’s week seven schedule was released today, and all four games will be taking place during the day. The Iowa State football team will have their first game of the season that didn’t kick-off in primetime.
Three games will kick-off on Saturday, October 12th, at 11:00 AM Central time. That will include the Iowa State Cyclones’ road game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. It will be televised on FOX Sports 1, which will be the third Iowa State game the network will broadcast. There will be just one Big 12 game at 2:30 PM CT.
Here’s the full list along with TV assignments:
- 11:00 AM CT: Iowa State at Texas Tech – TV: FOX Sports 1
- 11:00 AM CT: Oklahoma vs Texas (at Dallas, TX) – TV: ABC
- 11:00 AM CT: Kansas at TCU – TV: FOX Sports Networks
- 2:30 PM CT: Baylor at Kansas State – TV: FOX
It’s a little surprising to see three games on at the same time, especially with Oklahoma taking on Texas. They’re locked in to an early game every year, and perhaps there’s just not enough draw for the other two games to be on primetime.
Baylor-KSU looks like a good candidate for a primetime game, but it’s likely FOX was able to pick that game first and they will be showing the first game of the MLB American League Championship Series that night.
