It looks like the Iowa State football team has picked up their eighth recruit in the class of 2014, this time its an all-around athlete from Dallas, Texas.
Orion Salters, who’s both a wide receiver and all-purpose back in his highlight videos, retweeted someone giving him congratulations on Twitter, shortly after retweeting @CycloneRecruits giving Salters a mention.
S/O to my man @O_Salt2119 for committing to Iowa state #cyclonenation #2014

Later last night, 247Sports then gave the official note on Salters’ profile that he has committed to the Cyclones as of Monday, and gave him a rating of 78th. Rivals has him listed as a two-star athlete with no rankings or ratings.
Iowa State is the only official offer that Salters received, but its rumored that other major BCS schools were interested in the all-around athlete and it shouldn’t deter what he can bring to the team.
While his Hudl profile is protected, there’s a couple highlight videos on YouTube including the one below that shows off some of what the 5-10, 158-pound recruit can do.
No stats are given on MaxPreps during his time at Dallas Jesuit High School last season, but his Hudl profile lists him with a 40-yard dash time of 4.41 seconds and a 100-meter time of 10.8 seconds.
