The Big 12 announced their early season football schedule on Tuesday, clarifying four of the Iowa State Cyclones’ games on when and where they can be seen. One game against the biggest in-state rival received a slightly shocking start time.

Iowa State will be hosting Northern Iowa in the season opener on Saturday, August 31st, at 7:00 PM CT. It will be broadcast by Cyclones.tv and a simulcast will be on Mediacom channel 22.

On September 14th, the Cyclones will kick off against the Iowa Hawkeyes at 5:00 PM CT. Coverage of that game will be on the new FOX Sports 1, which will also be showing Iowa State’s road game at Tulsa a couple Saturdays after.

The Thursday night matchup where the Cyclones host the Texas Longhorns on October 3rd will now officially be on ESPN with a kickoff time at 6:30 PM CT. That move was expected when the game at Tulsa was selected to be shown on FOX’s new sports network.

With the release clarifying all the late-season Big 12 games that aren’t on Saturday, that will officially move the game against West Virginia on a Saturday. ABC will show the Iowa vs. Nebraska game on the Friday after Thanksgiving but will instead show a newly-formed Big East game afterwards in their traditional doubleheader.
