Two three-star recruits for the class of 2014 will be in Ames this Saturday during the Iowa State Cyclones’ spring football game.

Nile Sykes and Vontae Diggs are two outside linebackers from Illinois. Sykes is ranked a bit higher than Diggs on most national recruiting websites, such as 247Sports ranking him 43rd overall in the position and Rivals ranking him 22nd. Diggs is ranked 71st overall at the position on 247Sports and is unranked on Rivals.

Sykes is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound athlete from Oak Park, Illinois. He’s already been given an offer by Iowa State, along with Illinois, Indiana, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Purdue, Syracuse, Toledo, and Western Michigan. According to 247Sports, the Fighting Illini are his top choice but the Cyclones and Hoosiers are close.

Diggs doesn’t have an offer yet from Iowa State but is expecting one this Saturday. The athlete from Downers Grove, Illinois, checks in at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds. He’s a bit taller but carries less weight in comparison to Sykes. Diggs currently has just two offers from Ball State and Toledo.

Iowa State will also be hosting a few more unranked recruits, including receiver Simmie Cobb who is a teammate of Sykes and cornerback Jamal Baggett who is also from Oak Park but attends a different school than Sykes and Cobb.
