Cy’s Big 12 Football Picks: Week 7

Cy rebounded with going perfect in picking games last week, and if it wasn’t for suggesting that Kansas could at least be competitive on the field, he would have nailed all his spread picks as well. It’s a full slate of games this week with every team in play. Highlights include our own Iowa State Cyclones against the Kansas State Wildcats in a top-25 matchup, and of course the Red River Rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas.

These games are the reason why I am so impatient about football during the spring and summer seasons. Now that ISU has picked up another huge win in the Paul Rhoads era, it’s time to capitalize and stay consistent! Jared Barnett wasn’t fazed and the offensive line did so much better against TCU. Wait, what am I doing analyzing this stuff? That’s not my job. Prediction: ISU

11:00am – (15)Texas (4-1) vs. (10)Oklahoma (3-1)
Line: OU -3.5 | TV: ABC

How in the world did the Sooners get back in the top 10? They stunk against UTEP, and they lost to Tulsa by 22 last night. We beat Tulsa by 15. Vegas better have us favored by 37 when we play Oklahoma later this year. Prediction: TEX

2:30pm – (4)West Virginia (5-0) at Texas Tech (4-1)
Line: TTU +3.5 | ABC

The Sooners were all “HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?!” against those Red Raiders. That team is a fraud, and Geno Smith will expose that second-ranked total defense with five touchdowns in the first half. Lock of the century is in. Prediction: WVU

2:30pm – Oklahoma State (2-2) at Kansas (1-4)
Line: KAN (+27.5) | TV: FOX Sports Networks

I’m not making the mistake of picking the Jayhawks ever again. Oh, the over/under is set at 72.5 total points? The Cowboys might get to that number by half themselves. Prediction: OSU

6:00pm – (23)Texas Christian (4-1) at Baylor (3-1)
Line: BAY -7 | TV: FOX Sports Networks

Already, I had this line with the Bears being up by nine and now it’s dwindled into a touchdown today. Spoiler alert, the Horned Frogs still have multiple starters hurt on offense. Prediction: BAY
