Cy’s Big 12 Football Picks: Week 6

facebooktwitterreddit

Overall record: 28-6, at the spread: 8-16 … All games are on Saturday and all times are listed as CT. All rankings are based off the coaches’ poll. Teams underlined means Cy is picking them to beat the spread. Oklahoma State and Baylor have a bye this week.

11:00 am – Kansas (1-3) at (8)Kansas State (4-0)
Line: KSU -25 | TV: FX

This one isn’t a rivalry as the Wildcats will win easily, but that’s a lot of points to be favored by. Kansas will beat it with a BS touchdown at the end, but give me Kansas State in a laugher. Prediction: KSU

2:30 pm – Iowa State (3-1) at (13)Texas Christian (4-0)
Line: TCU -7 | TV: FSN

TCU has no starting quarterback and no depth at running back. I think Steele Jantz rebounds and wins his first Big 12 game in a low-scoring slugfest. Prediction: ISU

2:30 pm – (14)Oklahoma (2-1) at (24)Texas Tech (4-0)
Line:  TTU +4.5 | TV: ABC

Two defensive games in the Big 12 this week? You bet. Landry Jones is a huge disappointment this year, but the Sooners’ defense will hold the Red Raiders in check just like the Cyclones did a week ago. Oklahoma rebounds this week as well. Prediction: OU

6:00 pm – (7)West Virginia (4-0) at (9)Texas (4-0)
Line TEX -7 | TV: FOX

Drinking game: take a shot after every score. Texas’ defense may have been exposed a week ago, and Heisman candidate Geno Smith will continue killing it with his accuracy. Give me the Mountaineers as they step it up over a week ago, 84-77. Prediction: WVU
