Cy’s Big 12 Football Picks – Week 2

In case you haven’t heard, Iowa State’s own mascot, Cy, will make his Big 12 picks each week. He picked them last week (honest), but we needed to continue working on his contract behind the scenes and couldn’t use his real name.

Or perhaps I just wanted a slightly different name than multiple “(Conference) Picks – Week (Whatever)” on FanSided.

Cy had a perfect 8-0 on Saturday, but was the only person who picked SMU over Baylor on Sunday, not believing that the Big 12 could be perfect through the first week of the season.

Perhaps he still has a heart for Garrett Gilbert.

Hopefully he doesn’t have a heart for gambling, as he was just 1-4 against the spread.

Here’s a look at the matchups this week, and all games are played on Saturday. All times are on Saturday, are central time, and predictions underlined mean that Cy believes they will cover the spread.

Rice gave up over 600 yards of offense last week? Well, that’s not a shock. Last time I checked food didn’t move. Pick: KU

You know, I thought it said TCU was playing gambling. Not only would that be more fun for them, it would also be a challenge. Pick: TCU

If OU screws up punting the ball like 20 times, then maybe Texas A&M has a shot. Wait…who the hell is Florida A&M? Pick: OU

I don’t really have a feel for this game. It’d be really nice if we could watch the Texas Longhorns play a football game this season. Pick: Texas
