Ken Griffey Jr.’s Son Will Visit Iowa State This Weekend

“The Kid’s” kid will be coming to Iowa State this weekend on a visit.  Trey Griffey, the son of one of the best baseball players that has played in the last two decades, is a hot college football prospect.  Rivals.com has Trey Griffey as a 3-star prospect with 14 scholarship offers.  Also, Griffey was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game that was played in St. Petersburg a couple weeks ago.

Ken Griffey Jr. wasn’t a bad football player either.  He played running back for his high school team and was recruited by the likes of Oklahoma.  According to Trey, around the age of 11 is when he decided that he was “done with baseball”.  This past year, Trey caught 72 passes for 970 yards at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando.

Besides Iowa State, Trey has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan State, and Washington State.  Griffey says that he will likely decide on National Signing Day which is February 1st.
