Bio:  Eddie Porter was originally committed to Texas A&M but after Mike Sherman was fired, Porter decommitted.  Shortly after that, Porter committed to Paul Rhoads and the Cyclones.  As you can see above, Porter was a prized recruit and received some big time offers including three SEC schools.  In their 2012 JUCO Prospect List, Rivals.com listed Porter at 16th.  Also, Porter was the top linebacker on that list.  Porter played his JUCO ball at Blinn College (yes, Cam Newton’s old home) and played with future Cyclone DE, Ishmail Hayes.  Porter and Hayes are good friends with each other.

Current MLB Matt Ta’fo’ou will graduate this year.  Porter is the likely replacement to play in between Luke Knott and A.J. Klein.  The combination of Klein, Porter, and Knott should be the Big 12’s best linebacking core next year and possibly one of the nation’s best.
