Cyclones Lunchtime List: Top 5 Current Oklahoma State Players

5.  Josh Cooper – WR – Josh Cooper isn’t nationally known mostly due to the fact that he plays with Justin Blackmon.  Cooper has almost 50 catches less than Blackmon but don’t let that fool you.  So far on the year, the senior has 47 receptions.  Josh Lenz has the most receptions for the Cyclones this year with 32, 15 less than Oklahoma State’s second-leading receiver.

4.  Brodrick Brown – CB – Brodrick Brown is one the nation’s best defensive backs.  The junior is a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award which is given to the country’s best defensive back.  His teammate, Markelle Martin, is also a semifinalist.  Brodrick Brown has intercepted 4 passes this year and has 36 solo tackles.

3.  Joseph Randle – RB – The Cowboys are primarily known for their passing attack but they can also kill you on the ground.  Joseph Randle leads Oklahoma State in rushing with 993 yards and 21 touchdowns.

2.  Justin Blackmon – WR – In my opinion, Justin Blackmon is by far the best receiver in the country right now.  Nfldraftscout.com has him ranked as the best receiver prospect for the upcoming NFL Draft.  Blackmon’s numbers are unbelievable.  He has 93 receptions for 1142 yards and 14 touchdowns.  Blackmon is now getting some Heisman consideration which is much deserved.

1.  Brandon Weeden – QB – Weeden is easily one of the best quarterbacks in the BCS right now.  He currently ranks second in the BCS in passing yards with 3635.  He has a completion percentage of 73.1 and has thrown 31 TD passes.  With Andrew Luck and Kellen Moore both losing last week, Weeden is a serious Heisman contender.  Weeden received the most first-place votes in ESPN’s Heisman Watch yesterday.  Iowa State’s defense will have their hands full trying to prevent Weeden from having another monster day.
