1. Emmanuel Acho

Emmanuel Acho

Senior Linebacker Emmanuel Acho didn’t play against Iowa State last year due to an injury.  In 2010, Acho was named to the All-Big 12 second team.  His brother, Sam, played DE last year for the Horns and is now in the NFL.  Emmanuel has already accumulated 26 total tackles on this young season.  Last year, he had 79 and an interception that he took back to for a TD.  Acho is one of the best ILBs in the nation and will eventually be selected in this upcoming NFL Draft.

2. Blake Gideon

Safety Blake Gideon is also a senior.  He has started in every game since his freshman year for Texas.  He has been a Big 12 honorable mention three times.  In 2009 he had his best season as he intercepted six passes that year.  Gideon isn’t overwhelming physically but he plays with good football instinct.  Gideon will probably end up being selected in the NFL Draft in one of the later rounds.  This will be one of the best defensive backs that Steele Jantz will face all year.

3. Malcolm Brown

Freshman RB Malcolm Brown a breakout game against UCLA two weeks ago.  He rushed for 110 yards on 22 carries including a TD.  Brown started the year behind senior Fozzy Whittaker for the first two games before being placed above Whittaker before the UCLA game.  Brown was highly recruited out of high school as he was a five-star recruit and the number one running back in the nation.  He has everything you want in a RB; strength, agility, elusiveness.  Iowa State’s defense will have its hands full with Brown come Saturday.
