Player and Play of Week 2

Player of the Week – Steele Jantz
Steele Jantz cemented his legacy as a Cyclone when he led the team to a comeback win over the Hawkeyes. Jantz went “Houdini” on the Hawkeyes, making plays that seemed impossible. Jantz completed 25 out of his 37 passes for 279 yards and 4 touchdowns. Like I said in the recap of the game, he proved all his doubters wrong with his brilliant performance against Iowa. I was most impressed with his ability to know when to step up in the pocket and knowing when to run and escape pressure. Spidey sense. We need to to enjoy Steele Jantz for as long we have him because he is something special.
Play of the Week – James White’s 4-yard TD run
There were so many options for the Play of the Week so I just chose the game-winning touchdown. There were a lot more important plays in the game but this was this most exciting one. The key to the play was Darius Darks’s block on Shaun Prater to secure the edge for James White.
