There are two simple misdemeanors and a serious misdemeanor. First, the major one is “hosting a drug house” with “marijuana.” The other two simple misdemeanors are violating “nuisance party regulations” and a “noise violation.”

Dejean-Jones is being held at the Story County Jail on $1,600 bond. $1,000 is for the serious misdemeanor and $300 for each of the simple misdemeanors.

No official statement from head coach Fred Hoiberg or Iowa State has been given yet, but one is expected shortly. More information from ESPN basketball insider Jeff Goodman reveals that Dejean-Jones has been warned five times total (not just in one night) to keep the noise down. There also wasn’t more than 50 people there.

In Goodman’s writeup after talking to the police, officers came into the arrest smelling “burnt marijuana.”

Dejean-Jones averaged 17.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. He transferred from UNLV after last season’s late explosion and transferred to Iowa State as a graduate student.

There’s always a gamble when it comes to getting a talented transfer student with a troubled past. Most of them were able to thrive under Hoiberg’s system, but it looks like that won’t be the case for Dejean-Jones.

His future with the Cyclones is in serious question. An indefinite suspension is looming, and as more information comes in, the fate of his career will be determined. That’s a damn shame considering how successful he’s been in the first part of the Iowa State men’s basketball season.

More information will be posted as we receive it. The Cyclones will play at Iowa on Friday night. Tipoff is at 7:00 PM and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
