NBA Summer League 2014: Melvin Ejim not playing with Philadelphia 76ers

It appears that Melvin Ejim will not be playing with the Philadelphia 76ers after all.

A tweet from HoopsHype Canada reports that Ejim only joined the 76ers for training and wasn’t anticipating to play for the team. He was simply getting ready for his stint with the San Antonio Spurs in Las Vegas.

Lots of questions circled today during the game between the 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder when Ejim didn’t appear on the bench. It was because the former Cyclone isn’t even in Orlando anymore.

The news certainly solves the mystery of not seeing Ejim on the court, but it’s strange how it wasn’t found out any earlier. Reports were that Ejim was going to play with the 76ers, not just train with them, and he was listed on the official roster.

It was a little weird that Ejim was playing on two different teams, but at least we now know that we won’t be seeing him until July 11th when the San Antonio Spurs open up play with the Sacramento Kings. Tip-off is at 9:00 PM Central time and the game will be televised on NBATV.

The Spurs will also be playing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, July 13th, and the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, July 15th. Playoff games will be determined at a later date.

Until then, we can still check out Chris Babb with the Boston Celtics. They will play against the Indiana Pacers on Monday at 2:00 PM Central time. The game will be televised on NBATV.
