Iowa State’s football helmet was on display today during the video broadcast of ESPN Radio’s “SVP & Russillo” talk show.

A snap of the football helmet that was in front of Ryen Russillo was shared by Iowa State football’s Twitter account. The show will commonly have select football helmets on their desk as they talk sports for three hours every day.

While every school’s football helmet either has or will have been put on display during the show, it’s awesome to see Iowa State athletics get repped anywhere nationally.

“SVP & Russillo” is an ESPN Radio show that airs from noon to 3:00 PM Central time on various ESPN radio affiliates, hosted by Scott Van Pelt and Russillo. Some local affiliates will cover some or all of the show up with local programming, but it’s always available nationally at ESPN Radio’s official website, various apps like TuneIn Radio and Slacker Radio, and the first two hours are on ESPNews.

An interesting nugget about the show. Like other ESPN Radio shows, they’ve done their own spin on a bracket, and it was to find out who the fans believe is the greatest coach of all time. Interestingly enough, Joe Paterno made the final, up against legendary women’s basketball coach, Pat Summitt. It’s a nearly dead even race with Paterno owning 51 percent of the national vote, and the polls close tomorrow.

When I can, I catch the “SVP & Russillo” podcasts. There’s a lot of sports talk garbage out there, but generally this show tends to keep it cool and provides easy discussion rather than spitting out “hot takes.” Definitely recommended.
