Iowa State men’s basketball: Brent Musburger gets caught fawning over female Cyclones fans

Apparently ESPN announcer Brent Musburger didn’t learn a thing from hitting on Katherine Webb publicly over a year ago. The old horndog strikes again by wowing over a trio of Iowa State fans toward the end of the first Big 12 championship semifinal.

Since there wasn’t a true sixth man of the game between Iowa State and Kansas, the Big 12 Network picked three female Cyclone fans that were conveniently taking a group selfie. Musburger was a huge fan.

Honestly, it is a better pick than finding anyone from either bench. Both backup squads had a combined 18 points. Of those eight players, no one had more than six points or played longer than 16 minutes. Daniel Edozie was likely the best candidate, who finished with three points and three boards in eight minutes for the winning team.

This wasn’t nearly as creepy as the Katherine Webb ogling during last year’s BCS championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame. You could picture both Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit with their jaws dropped in the booth for over 30 seconds.

The fawning over the Iowa State fans was pretty quick and painless. The whole process of watching the three girls taking a group selfie was probably worse than Musburger narrating the thing.
