Last night, multiple sources, including Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, confirmed reports that the Celtics would elevate Babb from Boston’s D-League affiliate.

Hoops Habit pulled a quote from Celtics head coach Brad Stevens after a preseason game. He was impressed with Babb’s attitude and getting along with the team.

"Babb played in five preseason games with the Celtics and impressed Coach Brad Stevens in the process. “Chris Babb has been one of the best workers, has had one of the best attitudes and been one of the best teammates since day one,” the Celtics coach said after a preseason contest. “[His performance] is not at all a surprise to me.”"

Babb has been playing with the Celtics’ D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. He’s averaged 11.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists during his first season with them. In his second and final season with Iowa State, Babb averaged 9.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and shot 38.2 percent from 3-point range. His 3-point shooting is a bit down in his D-League season, currently sitting at 35.4 percent, but he’s also averaging more minutes (37.5 per game).

The former Cyclone has played in 33 games with Maine, the same number of games he played in his final season with Iowa State.

Babb will add a 3-point threat along with some defensive to the Celtics. It will be exciting to see how the guard plays in his first opportunity in the NBA regular season.
