I yap about the Bubu Palo situation and all of the aftermath afterwards, Iowa State’s newest ranking and how I disagree that they should be above the Iowa Hawkeyes like some fans, my thoughts on women’s basketball being overrated, and a great story from Rob Gray on Daniel Edozie.

Note: Originally, I was going to dissect the upcoming schedule for men’s basketball, but somehow that section must have gotten deleted.

In summary, this three-game stretch that begins tonight at Kansas is extremely tough in such a little time period. With having to travel to three different places in a span of a week and face the Big 12’s three best teams (according to my power rankings), this could make or break Iowa State’s chance at getting a two or even one-seed in the NCAA tournament.

Also, I’ll clarify what I said about the Oklahoma women’s basketball team: they could be better than we thought from earlier this season, winning their last two games after starting out 2-3 in the conference.

Here’s a link to Rob Gray’s great story on Daniel Edozie. I can’t praise it enough.

Next Tuesday, we’ll talk about the three-game stretch Iowa State men’s basketball had to face, another update with the women’s team, and a preview of football’s national signing day. Also, don’t forget another Hilton Magic Community Call will take place next Thursday, Feburary 6th, at 7:00 PM Central time!
