Aaron Wimberly has been having a pretty good week already. After being named as one of the Big 12’s offensive players of the week, he has surpassed everyone in Iowa State’s stable of running backs and will start in his second consecutive game.

According to the depth chart released for the game against the Texas Longhorns, Wimberly will be at the top spot. He beats out James White, even though White technically didn’t start despite being listed as the starter last week.

Here are some other nuggets that were found on the depth chart:

  • Junior tight end E.J. Bibbs will start his second consecutive game over senior TE Ernst Brun.
  • Sophomore strong tackle Brock Dagel will make his second consecutive start over senior ST Kyle Lichtenberg.
  • Tom Farniok is listed as the starting tackle.
  • Both placekickers, senior Edwin Arceo and freshman Cole Netton, are listed as a starter.

Tad Ecby will likely be Sam Richardson’s receiver of choice, along with an emerging Bibbs at the tight end position. Both players combined with 10 catches for 108 yards and Bibbs tacked on a touchdown.

Here’s a glance at the Longhorns’ depth chart. Most notable is David Ash or Case McCoy could be making the start at quarterback as Ash continues to recover from a concussion.
