Big 12 play opens up with Oklahoma hosting West Virginia, highlighting an eight-game slate for the conference in week two.

Is the Sooners’ defense for real after making Louisiana-Monroe’s offense, ranked 42nd overall last year, being dead last in the stats after the first week? Was the tight nailbiter against William & Mary a sign of things to come for the Mountaineers?

Check out all the picks below. It should be a better week overall for the Big 12 with no FCS upsets expected, unless Kansas decides to drop one. But we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

CC was 7-2 in straight-up picks last week. Here are the complete listings with game times and TV assignments.

Southeastern Louisiana at (24)TCU

Pick: TCU

(14)Oklahoma State at UTSA

Pick: OK ST – The fanbase for Texas-San Antonio will be fired up, but the real Cowboys should come in and be much more productive early on than a week ago.

Buffalo at Baylor

Pick: BAY – Baylor’s offense was sick against one of the better FCS programs last week. They should have an easy time with the Bulls.

Louisiana-Lafayette at Kansas State

Pick: KS ST – Hopefully the Wildcats don’t let last week’s loss against North Dakota State get to them. This should be a rather easy way to get back on track.

Stephen F. Austin at Texas Tech

Pick: TTU

(16)Texas at BYU

Pick: TEX – The Longhorns finally figured out the offense after a rough start against New Mexico State. BYU’s defense will provide a gigantic upgrade in difficulty, but the conference’s best preseason quarterback, David Ash, should pull it out.

South Dakota at Kansas

Pick: KAN

West Virginia at (15)Oklahoma

Pick: OKLA – It’s an entirely new system for the Mountaineers with Geno Smith out. If WVU runs into another defensive performance that the Sooners gave last week, this one will be over very early.
