Kenny Ejim, the younger brother of Iowa State Cyclones’ Melvin Ejim, has signed with Kirkwood Community College in Iowa. Is there any potential that the young basketball player from Canada will make his way onto the Cyclones in the future?

Barry Hayes (@hoopstarscanada) tweeted earlier today with the report that Ejim signed with Kirkwood.

Andy Garman (@GarmanSports) later tweeted confirming that Kenny was the younger brother of Melvin.

The athlete from St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School in Brampton, Ontario, checks in at 6-foot-5 and 198 pounds. He’s played as both the strong forward and shooting guard on the team.

In comparison to his older brother, the height is just about the same and he can easily be seen in some of his highlight video footage. If he wants to play at the Big 12 level, it’s an absolute must for him to gain weight – he’s 32 pounds lighter than his older brother.

Here’s his highlight video that Kenny uploaded on Youtube.

There is potential for Kenny if he wants to move up to the DI level, and now that he’s signed with Kirkwood it will make things very easy if Iowa State is interested.

Quite a few things will have to improve for the hopeful. It’s hard to really gauge what’s needed in a highlight video, but a quicker shot release is most notable in the footage. Obviously, getting bigger is another must.

Don’t expect a copy of what Melvin brings to the team if Kenny does actually receive an opportunity with the Iowa State Cyclones. Matching his consistent double-doubles and post presence will be nearly impossible, but gaining experience at the community college may give him enough edge to make it at the DI level.
