“Now you get those six opportunities without a turnover, you get a shot attempt. We kept talking about, how bad do you really want it? Do you really want to compete for a title? And those are the plays you have to make — the tip-outs, the loose balls, the dive-on-the-floors.” – Bruce Weber
Both teams had 10 turnovers after the first half of play, but Iowa State turned it over 10 times compared to Kansas State’s four in the second half.
KSU’s leading scorer, Rodney McGruder, had 22 points, five rebounds, and four steals.
“Everybody’s talking about, ‘You guys are in first place,’ and all that, but we’re pretty much halfway through the Big 12, so there’s a lot of games left. Does it feel good? Yeah. But we can’t settle.” – Angel Rodriguez
Angel Rodriguez had the second-most points on the team finishing with 20, also making all seven of his free throw opportunities. The team made 18-22 from the stripe overall.
“That’s not a good team. That’s a great team.” – Fred Hoiberg on Kansas State.
