Kendall Reyes – Defensive Tackle

Reyes decided to return for his senior year as a leader of the experienced UCONN defense.  Last year, Reyes was All-Big East last year and may be an All-American after the year is over.  NFL scouts like his explosiveness off the ball and his quickness.  In his two games so far, he has accumulated six total tackles.

Lyle McCombs – Running Back

Freshman Lyle McCombs has surprised a lot of UCONN fans with his performance this year.  He was expected to play behind senior D.J. Shoemate.  Shoemate was injured before the first game against Fordham and hasn’t played since.  McCombs is a small 5’8, 172 pounds but has rushed for 259 yards combined in two games.  Shoemate is expected to return this week and share the load with McCombs.  Still expect McCombs to do some damage when he gets the ball.

Nick Williams – Kick Returner

Nick Williams led the country last year with an average of 35.3 yards per return and was an All-Big East performer last year.  He didn’t start returning last year until half way through the season.  He returned two kicks for a touchdown last year.  A 95-yarder against Pitt and a 100-yarder against Rutgers.
